A man who killed one medic and injured four others was sentenced to life imprisonment and deprived of political rights for life by the Hefei Intermediate People's Court in Anhui province on Tuesday morning, China Central Television reported.

The sentence was based on the mitigating factors that Cai Chunfeng suffers from paranoid mental disorder, has limited capacity for criminal responsibility and surrendered after the crime.

Cai said at the court that he would not appeal.

On Nov 13, 2012, Cai chased and stabbed medics at a hospital with a kitchen knife, killing one and injuring four, due to his dissatisfaction with his medical treatment.
