Large Medium SmallLi Jingxian, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee has proposed that daily necessities should be exempt from value-added tax (VAT) to cope with the rising of prices.
Li's proposal has four specific categories for exemptions: agricultural food products, processed food such as noodles and meatballs, water, and electricity and gas within the quota designated by household size.
