BEIJING - Texas Instruments Inc announced on Wednesday that its 7,745 digital cinema screens in China account for 60 percent of all digital cinemas in the Asia-Pacific region including India, Australia and New Zealand, of which 4,409 are 3D screens.

The company forecast that by the end of 2013, all commercial theaters in China will use digital screens. In May, the country surpassed the United States to become the world's largest digital projection market. China is predicted to have 20,000 movie screens by 2015.

At present, more than 50 percent of all theaters in the world use digital screens at a total of about 50,000. By the end of 2015, digital screens are expected to be standard in every theater.
