The tanker BOSSILI 1 was on its way from East China's Zhoushan island to Singapore, when it lost power due to mechanical problems on the sea 60 nautical miles away from the mouth of South China's Pearl River on Saturday.

The Guangzhou Salvage Bureau under the Ministry of Transport received an emergency call from the tanker at 3:30 pm Saturday and successfully rescued 19 crews, including 10 Chinese and 9 Filipino.

The tanker is expected be dragged to Guishan Island at about 4:00 pm Sunday, the official with the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau said.
