Father kills son to stop fight over remote control

Updated: 2009-06-23 08:43 A father who tried to stop his two sons from fighting over the TV remote accidentally killed one of them with a broomstick. He was sentenced to four years in prison for killing his 12-year-old son. One of his sons was given permission to watch his favorite TV program at home since he got good grades at school. His younger brother didn't agree and wanted to watch a cartoon, so they fought with towels. Their father, Gu Xunhai, became angry and hit the eldest son on the head with the broomstick and injured him. Later that night, the boy died on his way to a hospital in Daxing, Beijing.
