Breakup leads to blackmail and court case

A man in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, was dragged into court after he tried to blackmail his married homosexual lover with secret tapes of their sexual liaisons.

The accused, 23, met the married man who is 46, and they became lovers in 2008. Weeks later, the older man ended the affair and the younger man was upset.

The next day, he gave a CD of their bedroom activities to the older man and demanded 60,000 yuan ($8,785) in compensation or he would show the CD to his family.

The man called police and the younger man was arrested.
