Zoo wants to find male bears for female bears

Updated: 2009-04-15 09:11 Workers at the Wuhan Zoo in Hubei province are trying to find male bears to live with some lonely female bears.
Two female brown bears, a mother and daughter, have not enjoyed a relationship with a male bear for at least four years. The zoo's only male bear died in 2005. The baby bear was born in the 1990s. Li Dexin, director of the zoo, said the mother and daughter often quarrel and they suspect it's because they need some papa bear company. The zoo recently rebuilt the home used by the two female bears and it has room for a papa bear. (Wuhan Evening News) |
