A national scenic resort, Hongfeng (Red Maple) Lake is found in the suburb of Qingzhen, 33 kilometres from Guiyang. Covering 57.2 square kilometres, it is the largest man-made lake on the Guizhou Plateau. Hongfeng Lake consists of the North and South lakes. The 170 isles, the numerous caves , the clear water and the qu iet bays are well known. Folklore of the Dong and Miao people are demonstrated i n the resort.
