Thousands try to date PLA officers(China Daily)
Updated: 2007-08-15 14:29 Only 205 of the 2,000 young women who applied for a singles event with PLA officers were among the chosen. Women aged 22 to 28 from throughout China signed up for the event held by the Beijing Women's Federation marriage consulting service center on Saturday for 205 officers of the People's Liberation Army. More than 70 percent of the women were registered with the help of their parents, who thought a matchmaking event sponsored by the federation was more reliable than parties held by marriage brokers.
