Five confirmed dead in landslide in SW China(Xinhua)Updated: 2007-05-27 18:22 Five people were confirmed dead and three injured in a landslide that occurred in Pengshui of Chongqing Municipality, southwest China, local authorities said on Sunday. Continuous rains caused a landslide in the Miao-Tujia Autonomous County of Pengshui on Thursday morning, which buried two houses. Three people injured and buried in the ruins were rescued by staff from the local public security and fire fighting departments. The bodies of the five people killed in the accident were recovered on Saturday. |
