White-collar women keep marriage on top of mind

Marriage is the top issue plaguing white-collar women in Shanghai, whether they are married or not, a survey by the Shanghai Women's Association concluded.
White-collar women, especially those well educated and well paid, said it is increasingly difficult for them to find an ideal spouse. The men's preference to marry women who are comparatively weaker in every aspect makes the search even more difficult.
Married women said managing the marriage is the thing they most want to learn. Last year the association received 2,111 letters from local women complaining their marriages were on the verge of collapse because of domestic violence and extramarital affairs.
