A bridegroom-to-be in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, plans to award 1,000 yuan (US$123) for the best wedding invitation wording.
Chen, who plans to hold his wedding ceremony in a few weeks, had been unable to pick the right words for the invitations.
But after one of his friends revealed his trouble in a local newspaper, more than a dozen people called in with suggestions.
The couple is currently considering the contributions and will pick the winner over the next couple of days.
