A kidnapper puts a knife on a hostage's
neck in Xiangfan, central China's Hubei Province, May 12, 2006. The
kidnapper threatened to kill the hostage if his girlfriend refused to see him.
The man was overwhelmed 40 minutes after a standoff with the police. The hostage
