Sectors that could benefit from the two-child policy

By Zhu Wenqian (China Daily) Updated: 2015-11-04 09:38

According to a recent report by mmbang.com, a popular parenting website, about 94 percent of mothers with children aged between 1 and 7 have downloaded child care apps on their mobile phones.

New moms are keen to learn about pregnancy and parenting, and some apps users hope to make hospital reservations on the Internet and consult with doctors online.

Online education

While young couples consider whether to have a second child, investors are banking on growth opportunities in the educational sectors from kindergarten to high school, or K-12.

According to data from major Internet company Tencent Holdings Ltd, 106 online educational projects had received funding by August this year. Among them, online-to-offline education and the K-12 sector have been the most popular.

Since Chinese parents place education at the top of the list for their children, online options will increase competition in the industry.
