Volvo Car Corp, now owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co, last week appointed Fu Qiang president and CEO of its sales company in China. The appointment will take effect on Oct 1. He succeeds Richard Snijders, who will take a new position in the company's European operations.

Fu has 23 years of experience in the auto industry. Before joining Volvo in May, he served as executive vice-president for sales and marketing at Sino-German joint venture Beijing Benz. He also worked for Volkswagen's Skoda and Audi brands in China.
