Gold price opens higher in Hong Kong

HONG KONG -- The gold price in Hong Kong went up HK$80 to open at HK$14,260 per tael on Monday, according to the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society.
The price is equivalent to $1,538.58 a troy ounce, up HK$9.23 at the latest exchange rate of one US dollar against HK$7.78.
