Canada expects financial institutions to expand in China

TORONTO -- Finance Minister Jim Flaherty says that Canada looks forward to improving opportunities for Canadian investors in China as well as increasing domestic investments by Chinese investors.

"I think we have good relations and we'll see substantial increases ?in trade," Flaherty said at the Bloomberg Canada Economic Summit in Toronto.

The minister said that he also expects Canadian financial institutions to do a lot more business in China.

"We already have substantial Chinese investment and I expect there will be more," Flaherty said.
