Hong Kong stocks close 1.7% higher

HONG KONG - Hong Kong stocks rose 391.07 points, or 1.7 percent, to close at 23,451.43 on Wednesday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 23,505.11 and 23, 180.92. Turnover totaled HK$89.08 billion ($11.44 billion).
