PetroChina has resumed its construction of an LNG terminal in Rudong, eastern Jiangsu province. When a storage tank collapsed in mid-June, the project was brought to a halt.

Because PetroChina vows to follow strictly the health, safety and environment (HSE) rules and slow down in the upcoming construction, it is possible that it may not meet its original plan to put the project into operation by April 2011.

The accident, which led to eight deaths and 14 injuries, was caused by errors committed during work by sub-contractor Shanghai Electric Power Construction, explained the local authority
