Chinese shares rise 1.71% on Tuesday

Chinese equities rose for the sixth day, up 1.71 percent Tuesday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.71 percent, or 49.36 points to finish at 2,930.48.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 2.47 percent, or 287.89 points, to end at 11,923.34.

Combined turnover rose to 232.10 billion yuan ($33.98 billion) from 166.997 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 742 to 107 in Shanghai and 636 to 107 in Shenzhen.
