Petrochina to build 1m-ton crude oil depot in XinjiangBy ()
Updated: 2007-06-22 16:02 PetroChina Co Ltd, the country's largest oil and gas producer, plans to invest 879 million yuan (US$115 million) to build a crude oil depot in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The depot has a designed capacity of one million tons. Construction is due to begin in August with the acility to enter commercial operations at the end of 2008, it said. PetroChina unit Dalian PetroChemical plans to build 25 crude oil tanks with storage capacity of 100, 000 cubic meters each in Dailian, Northeast China's Lioaning Province. Total capacity at Dalian will rise to 3.24 million cubic meters in 2008 when the entire expansion project concludes. PetroChina will also build crude oil tanks in Tianjin in northern China.
