Hong kong's Henderson Land Development Co Ltd plans to buy around 10 development sites in eight Chinese mainland cities in the second half of the year for over seven billion yuan, said executive director John Yip Ying-chee.

The company was in talks to buy the sites which together would provide a combined gross floor area of between 60-70 million square feet, more than 66 percent of its existing developable land bank in the Chinese mainland.

"In the past two months, we have been in active discussions with the governments of these cities," Yip said.

The cities include Changcun, Dalian, Jinan, Nanjing, Tianjin, Wuhan, Wuxi and Yixing.
