February industrial output up 12.6 percent

Value-added industrial output in February rose 12.6 percent year-on-year, the National Bureau of Statistics said.

Industrial output for the two months to February was up 18.5 percent from a year earlier, the NBS said last week.

Output of crude oil was 14.34 million tons in February, up 2.3 percent year-on-year, while oil processing output was up 6.4 percent at 24.94 tons.

Gasoline output rose 4.9 percent to 4.66 million tons in February, and diesel output was up 4.2 percent at 9.16 million tons.

In February, crude coal output rose 2.9 percent to 142.03 million tons, while non-ferrous metals output was up 25.9 percent at 1.81 million tons.

Electricity generated was 196.73 billion kilowatt hours (kWh), up 5.3 percent year-on-year, while coke output was up 21.5 percent at 22.89 million tons.

Production of raw iron, crude steel and steel products was up 18.6 percent, 20.1 percent and 22.3 percent, respectively, at 34.04 million tons, 36.14 million tons and 38. 57 million tons.

Cement output was 65.01 million tons in February, up 15.0 percent year-on-year.

Auto production rose 3.8 percent to 597,000 million units. Sedans accounted for 316,000 units, up 11.6 percent year-on-year.
