Index edges up, 01/24(China Daily)Updated: 2007-01-25 08:54 China's main stock index climbed 0.88 percent as property stocks rebounded from big losses over the past week. The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2,975.129 points after hitting a fresh all-time, intra-day high of 2,994.28. Turnover in Shanghai A shares was 97.5 billion yuan (US$12.5 billion), with 434 companies in the Shanghai A-share market gaining, while 311 declined.
