Where does Puguang gas field's gas go?

Updated: 2006-08-25 09:36 Puguang gas field, the largest and richest gas field ever discovered in China, has a gas distribution problem. Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said the gas from Puguang will be transferred to Shanghai Municipality and East China's Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, instead of the original route to Jinan, East China's Shandong Province. The Puguang gas field, located in Southwest China's Sichuan Province, is one of five gas fields with reserves of more than 200 billion cubic metres discovered in China. According to the proposal, the field's production of commercial gas will exceed 4 billion cubic metres per year by 2008 and reach 8 billion cubic metres per year by 2010. ......
