China, Germany build maglev line

A passenger and Shanghai's maglev train. The National Maglev
Transportation Engineering Research and Development Center has made an agreement
with German companies to build the Shanghai-Hangzhou maglev line, saying the
center director Wu Xiangming on May 22. With a total length of 175 kilometers,
the maglev railway is expected to go into operation before 2010. [newsphoto]
