New expressway opens

Ladies of China's Dai ethnic group perform at the opening ceremony of the
expressway from Simao city to Xiaomengyang in Puwen town, Jinghong city of
southwest China's Yunnan Province on Thursday, April 6, 2006. The expressway,
the first one running through tropic rain forest in China, opened to traffic
Thursday. It is an important section of the international route from Kunming,
capital of Yunnan Province, to Bangkok, the capial of Thailand, which will be
