will lay its first brick in the city's northern bund area by end of the year and
open business in 2009, Oriental Morning Post said on August 8.
The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd and the Starwaly Properties (Group) in
Australis, the two developers of the hotel, have invested US$361 million in the
project, said the report.
The hotel, which is scheduled to have 300 guest rooms, will begin
construction on "someday in the fourth quarter" of the year and will open to the
public by 2009, official from the Peninsula Hotels (Group) told the newspaper
yesterday.
