BRI project tenants recognized for outstanding hiring jobs
Several tenants of Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), a landmark China-Indonesia cooperation project under the Belt and Road Initiative, were recently recognized for outstanding human resources practices at the HR Asia Awards 2026 Indonesia Chapter, showcasing the charm of BRI projects.
Since its inception in 2013, IMIP has developed into a large integrated industrial cluster supported by the region's abundant nickel resources.
On June 5, the HR Asia Awards 2026 Indonesia Chapter awards ceremony was held in Jakarta, with four IMIP tenants — PT Indonesia Tsingshan Stainless Steel (ITSS), PT Indonesia Guang Ching Nickel and Stainless Steel Industry (GCNS), PT Walsin Nickel Industrial Indonesia (WNII), and PT Oracle Nickel Industry (ONI) — winning the main award of the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards 2026, along with several other awards.
The HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards recognizes companies that are identified by their employees as among the preferred employers in Asia and that demonstrate outstanding performance in HR practices, employee engagement, and workplace culture. In addition to the main award, this year's ceremony also featured several category awards.
In the category awards, ITSS won the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award and the Tech Empowerment Award; GCNS won the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award and the People Transformation Award; WNII won the People Transformation Award and the Sustainable Workplace Award; and ONI won the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award and the Tech Empowerment Award.
Bruce Ou, director of the ESG Office at IMIP, noted that the park has a long industrial chain, diverse job categories, and a large workforce. As tenants' operations continue to deepen, talent cultivation, employee development, and organizational capability building have become important foundations for supporting stable business operations and the long-term development of the park.
IMIP has continued to strengthen training and career development for Indonesian employees. Through ongoing skills training, workplace learning and management development programs, the park and its tenants have provided more career development opportunities for Indonesian employees while strengthening talent support for stable business operations and refined management.
A representative from IMIP's Human Resources Department said the awards recognize the HR management practices of IMIP tenants and provide a reference to further improve employee services and organizational development.
With a planned land area of 4,000 hectares and over 50 enterprises, IMIP has coordinated efforts to advance industrial development, green transformation, environmental governance, community development and public welfare investment.
IMIP's development not only serves Indonesia's industrial upgrading and regional development, but also provides support for deepening practical cooperation and expanding shared interests between China and Indonesia.
