Yuan strengthens against greenback

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 51 pips to 6.8147 against the US dollar on Tuesday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

NEV passenger car exports surge in May

China's exports of new energy passenger vehicles surged 112.6 percent from a year earlier in May, reaching a total of 424,000 units, industry association data showed. Last month, exports rose 4.4 percent compared with April 2026 and accounted for 54.1 percent of total passenger vehicle shipments abroad, up 9.5 percentage points from a year earlier, according to the China Passenger Car Association.
