Han Song, former chairman of the standing committee of Xi'an people's congress in Shaanxi province, has been prosecuted for suspected bribery, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate. Prosecutors allege that Han used his former positions to seek benefits for others in exchange for a substantial amount of money and valuables.

Han held numerous influential roles, including positions at the former State Administration for Industry and Commerce, as vice-mayor of Xi'an, and as Party chief and director of the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park administrative committee. He is accused of leveraging his authority to secure improper benefits for others through official acts by other state functionaries.

The National Commission of Supervision initially investigated the case before transferring it to procuratorial authorities. The Lanzhou People's Procuratorate in Gansu province has filed a public prosecution against Han with the Lanzhou Intermediate People's Court. During the review and prosecution stage, prosecutors informed Han of his litigation rights and consulted with his defense counsel.

Han, 61, originally from Shandong province, joined the Party in 1986 and began his career in 1989. He held various key positions before moving to Xi'an in 2006, where he served in several leadership roles. Han was placed under investigation in 2025 and expelled from the Party in February 2026.

Anti-corruption authorities have accused Han of violating the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving conduct, accepting inappropriate benefits, and engaging in power-for-money transactions.
