Around 70% of public welfare projects under the Old Town Rehabilitation Project in Gwadar have been completed as of June 3, according to a Gwadar Development Authority official.
Urban Infrastructure Development Underway
Work is currently underway on roads, street restoration, drainage systems, sewerage lines, drinking water supply networks, and streetlight installation. Additionally, authorities are upgrading essential civic infrastructure to improve urban living conditions in Old Town.
Focus on Modern Civic Facilities
On the directives of the Director General of GDA, the main goal of the project is to provide modern urban facilities to residents. Therefore, the initiative prioritizes improved sanitation, water access, and transportation infrastructure.

Expansion of Tourism and Public Spaces
Meanwhile, development is also progressing on Beach Model Parks in Gadani, Kund Malir, Ormara, Pasni, and Gwadar. These projects aim to promote tourism and enhance recreational spaces along the coastal belt.
Broader Master Plan Implementation
In addition, more than 20 mega projects under the Gwadar Master Plan 2026 are moving forward. These include commercial zones, special economic areas, housing schemes, museums, heritage centers, and coastal tourism resorts.

Furthermore, project teams are continuously monitoring progress to ensure quality standards and timely completion. As a result, authorities aim to accelerate development while maintaining oversight of all ongoing components.
