Regarding the visit by a Chinese Kuomintang party delegation led by its chairwoman Cheng Li-wun to the United States, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Tuesday that issues concerning the exchanges of China's Taiwan region with foreign countries "should be treated in accordance with the one-China principle".

According to media reports, Cheng is currently visiting the US and has expressed willingness to meet with US President Donald Trump.

In response, Mao said at a daily news conference in Beijing on Tuesday that, "Issues concerning the exchanges of China's Taiwan region with foreign countries should be treated in accordance with the one-China principle."
