Long March veteran Ma Zhixuan dies at 108 in Taiyuan

Ma Zhixuan, former deputy director of the General Logistics Department's Taiyuan Base military station, passed away in Taiyuan on May 24 at the age of 108. Ma was a retired officer with the rank of deputy army general who was recognized as an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China and a highly experienced communist fighter.
A memorial service for his remains was held at 9 am on May 28 in the Yong'an Hall of the Yong'an Funeral Home in Taiyuan.
According to publicly available information, Ma was born in February 1918. He joined the revolution in December 1932. As a member of the Red Army, he participated in the Long March in August 1933 and was awarded the rank of colonel in 1955.
