Representatives from national academies of administration, public policy sectors, leadership institutes, and management organizations from 14 countries, along with domestic experts and scholars, gathered at an international symposium on world modern governance held at Fudan University in Shanghai on Tuesday.

Focusing on topics, including government capability, modern governance, institutional development, and digital innovation, the event aimed to provide a high-level platform for dialogue and joint research among universities and think tanks from various countries.

It also sought to showcase the deep exchange of experiences and the creation of diverse ideas among Global South nations in the field of modern governance. Through open dialogue and practical discussions, the conference was intended to offer new insights and solutions to address the common challenges in development and governance faced by the world today.

The participants hailed from countries, including Brazil, Thailand, Rwanda, Indonesia, Burundi, Kazakhstan, Ethiopia, Greece, and Uzbekistan. The event was organized by the Global South Think Tanks Alliance and Fudan University.

During the event, Fudan University's School of International Relations and Public Affairs announced plans to spearhead the creation of an international knowledge network on development and governance.

This initiative will encourage collaborative research projects among research institutions in the Global South, facilitate bilateral exchanges of students and scholars, promote ongoing dialogue between academia and industry, and enhance skill transfer.
