A popular science picture book The Call of the Forest: Tao Tao the Panda's Journey Back to the Wild was recently published by Yilin Press. Written by Zhang Hemin and illustrated by artist Ren Xiaoxuan, the book draws on Zhang's 40 years of hands-on research and tells the true story of Tao Tao, the first male giant panda in China to be successfully reintroduced into the wild.
