Environmental problems close to people's homes can cause immediate distress such as cooking fumes from restaurants. Near Yangtze Normal University in Fuling, around 120 vendors operate on a snack street, and their cooking fumes affected nearby residents. At first, I did not take the issue seriously. But after receiving complaints and visiting the site myself, I realized the problem was severe. We then worked with urban management authorities and the subdistrict office to create a closed-loop solution, recording problems and resolving them one by one. We are also seeking funding to provide vendors with mobile food carts equipped with purification facilities free of charge, with emissions data connected to a digital supervision platform. In this way, we hope to preserve the lively character of the street while minimizing disruption to residents.
