Life at the Yellow River Delta: Season 2, a documentary produced by Shandong Broadcasting and Video Media Group and its partners, won the "documentary gold award" at the 2026 Houston International Film Festival.

The three-year production captures the breathtaking ecology of the Yellow River Delta in East China's Shandong province, following migratory birds, mudflat animals, and changing seasons. Through intimate close-ups and patient observation, it reveals the resilience and quiet drama of nature — from a newly hatched bird breaking out of its shell to a flock of cranes taking flight at sunset.

The film's first season won three awards at the 45th annual Telly Awards in the United States, including Gold for Nature & Wildlife. Both seasons have been aired on National Geographic Channel, reaching over 300 million viewers in more than 170 countries and regions.

By focusing on the universal themes of parenthood, survival, and the beauty of wetlands, the documentary speaks a visual language that transcends borders. It shows that a well?told story from a small corner of Shandong can resonate with audiences across the Pacific — proving that nature, filmed with patience and respect, needs no loud words to be understood.
