2026 Beijing Xiangshan Forum Navigator Meeting opens in Beijing
The 2026 Beijing Xiangshan Forum Navigator Meeting opened in Beijing on Friday, bringing together over 120 defense officials, experts, scholars and media representatives from more than 40 countries and international organizations for discussions on global security governance.
Co-hosted by the China Association for Military Science and the China Institute for International Strategic Studies, the Navigator Meeting serves as an important forward-looking event of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum. It aims to provide an open, inclusive and equal platform for international security dialogue and reflects the forum's principles of equality, openness, inclusiveness, and mutual learning.
Under the theme "Global Security Governance: Challenges and Approaches," the meeting features discussions on international order and international rule of law, new security challenges in the Asia-Pacific, responsibility for safeguarding international common security, and risk control in the military application of emerging technologies.
In addition, a commemorative session marking the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, titled "The Role of International Forums in Global Security Governance", has also been arranged during the meeting.
Participants will conduct in-depth exchanges on major international and regional security issues, share perspectives on global security governance, and explore approaches to addressing common security challenges.
