Yangko dance, the beloved traditional Chinese folk dance known for its vibrant costumes and vigorous movements, instantly won over visiting American high school students.
Recently, a group of students from Lone Peak High School and Orem High School traveled to China for the Sino-US Youth People-to-People Exchange Camp. On March 31, during their visit to Beijing Bayi School, the Yangko dance lesson, with its distinctive local charm, stood out as one of the most memorable moments.
The students laughed and cheered as they picked up each new movement alongside local teachers and peers, turning a simple lesson into a heartfelt cultural exchange and building genuine connections, one dance step at a time.
