China congratulates Min Aung Hlaing on Myanmar election win
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Friday that China congratulates Min Aung Hlaing on his election as president of Myanmar.
The congratulations were extended after Min Aung Hlaing secured more than half of the votes at the Union Parliament, winning Myanmar's presidential election.
China and Myanmar are traditionally friendly neighbors and a community with a shared future, Mao said.
She added that China's friendly policy is extended toward the entire nation of Myanmar, and that China supports the new government of Myanmar in safeguarding national peace and stability and achieving development and prosperity.
"We are willing to work together with Myanmar to effectively implement the four major global initiatives proposed by China, actively promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and advance the building of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future, in order to deliver more practical results for the benefit of the people of both countries," Mao said.
