Shi Zhihao, a world champion who grew up playing table tennis in streets and schools, said, "The event's age range from 7 to 70 aligns with the sport's characteristics and reflects old Shanghai's love for table tennis. We have a strong foundation for mass table tennis, and in the new era, we must continue this legacy."
World champion Ni Xialian shared similar sentiments, stating that grassroots participation laid a strong foundation for her career: "Shanghai is the cradle of table tennis, and elevating mass participation to new heights is a very meaningful initiative."
