Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Tuesday that China and Pakistan will strengthen strategic communication and coordination on the Iran situation.

Mao made the remarks as Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar visits China on Tuesday. It will mark his second trip to China in three months.

Speaking at a regular news briefing in Beijing, Mao said as all-weather strategic cooperative partners that trust and support each other, China and Pakistan hold similar positions and maintain close communication on major international and regional issues.

Mao said China believes that Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Dar will enhance strategic communication and coordination on international and regional issues of common concern including the situation in Iran, echo a united voice for peace and justice, and make fresh efforts to promote talks for peace and safeguard regional peace and stability.
