Wuhan advances development of brain-computer interface industry
The 2026 China Brain Science and Neuroregulation Technology Development Summit Forum and the Wuhan Brain-Computer Interface Industry Innovation Development Conference commenced in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) on March 21. The forum attracted over 2,500 representatives from the medical and industrial sectors.

The forum aims to become the largest domestic platform for brain-computer interface (BCI) industry exchange, accelerating the industrialization of brain-computer integration, as BCI technology is transitioning from laboratory research to industrial application.
Companies including CED Medical and Neurodome signed agreements to join OVC's BCI industry cluster, while OVC-based Yiruide Group signed partnerships with Tianjin Haihe Laboratory and the PKU-Wuhan Institute of Artificial Intelligence to collaborate on innovative devices and artificial intelligence.

The forum also featured an exhibition of new non-invasive BCI and neuroregulation technologies and products. Yiruide Group, for example, unveiled several pioneering technologies and products, including the "photoelectric dual-mode" BCI system and a time-interference electrical stimulator capable of non-invasive precise modulation of deep brain tissues.
Healthcare is currently the largest and fastest-growing application area for BCI technology. OVC is focusing on industry alliances, specialized zones, policy initiatives, clinical applications, and industrial funds to accelerate the industrialization of BCI technology in this sector.
