Greater efforts will be made to boost new productive forces between Beijing, Hebei province's Xiong'an New Area, and Tianjin, according to Yin Yong, mayor of Beijing, who spoke at a press conference about the capital on Friday during the ongoing two sessions.

"We will boost the coordinated development of the international innovation centers in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, seizing the opportunity presented by the evolution of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region's science and technology strength," he said.

The city aims to continuously enhance the efficiency and proportion of regional technology transfer, accelerating the development of a multi-level, collaborative, and open framework that serves northern China, the entire nation, and even the global stage, he said.

Statistics show that the GDP of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region grew by 5.4 percent last year, 0.4 percentage points higher than the national average. Its contribution to the national total has steadily increased.

Regarding collaborative innovation, the value of technology contracts transferred from Beijing to Tianjin and Hebei reached nearly 100 billion yuan ($14 billion), marking an increase of over 18 percent year-on-year.

In transportation connectivity, several key projects, including the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway and the Chengde-Pinggu section of the Chengping Expressway, have been completed and opened to traffic.

In public services, more than 300 high-quality primary and secondary schools and kindergartens from Beijing and Tianjin have partnered with counterparts in Hebei to establish cooperative educational programs.

Additionally, 150 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei medical alliances have been formed. Over 300 services can now be processed between all three places through self-service, bringing greater convenience to residents of the three regions.
