On Thursday, tech giant Aridge, an arm of new energy vehicle maker Xpeng Motors, conducted trial production rollouts and multi-vehicle test flights of its land aircraft carrier in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province.

At the company's 120,000-square-meter flying car factory in the city's Huangpu district, five land aircraft carrier vehicles were completed and rolled off the production line, and then flight tested.

The factory is the world's first to utilize a modern assembly line for the mass production of flying cars. At full capacity, it can roll out one aircraft every 30 minutes.

The company conducted the tests in collaboration with Guangzhou Urban Investment Group and the Fifth Institute of Electronics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, bringing flying cars one step closer to real-world flight.
