A letter to hometown: A journey through mountains and rivers
This video shows how Qiaopi, letters sent home by Chinese emigrants to accompany remittances, connect overseas Chinese in Thailand with their hometowns in Chaozhou and Shantou of South China's Guangdong province.
Upon discovering that a century-old site of Qiaopiju, private entities that specialized in correspondence and remittances for overseas Chinese, was in a state of disrepair, procuratorial organs launched an oversight program. They moved to engage various departments and issued consultative letters according to the law, ultimately reviving the place and protecting Qiaopi-related cultural heritage.
The Supreme People's Procuratorate and the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese have enhanced cooperation mechanisms to safeguard overseas Chinese's rights and interests, supporting Chinese modernization through the rule of law.
