PLA conducts training of assault on maritime targets to east of Taiwan Island

NANJING - The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command on Monday employed destroyers, frigates, fighters and bombers to conduct drills in the waters and airspace to the east of Taiwan Island, according to the theater command.
Focusing on the assault on maritime targets, seizure of regional air superiority, as well as submarine hunting and anti-submarine operations, the drills tested the troops' capabilities of sea-air coordination and precise target hunting and neutralization, the theater command said.
