Xizang official Wang Jun placed under investigation
Wang Jun, deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group and vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Xizang autonomous region people's congress, is suspected of serious violations of Party discipline and national laws. She has been placed under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation while in office, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission announced on Wednesday.
Wang, 61, is a native of Gansu province. She began her career in 1982 and joined the Communist Party of China in 1987. She has spent much of her career in Xizang, serving as deputy commissioner of the administrative office of Ngari prefecture and head of the region's land and resources department.
Since May 2016, Wang has been deputy secretary of the region's commission for discipline inspection, and since 2018, she has served as deputy director of the Standing Committee of the region's people's congress.
