Chinese military's overseas social media accounts showcase its progress
More than a year after launch, the first batch of the Chinese military's overseas social media accounts is believed to have shown the world a "modern, professional and peace-loving" side of the Chinese military.
Under the name of "China Military Bugle" (handle: @ChinaMilBugle), the accounts debuted on X in September 2024 and later expanded to Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
In a video released on Monday, the operations team of those accounts thanked their global followers and invited more users to engage.
According to a news release from the team, over the past year, the account matrix has showcased the Chinese People's Liberation Army's steady progress and notable contributions through contents on combat-oriented training, joint exercises, international cooperation, UN peacekeeping operations, and humanitarian relief.
The team said those accounts have become an important window for the international community to learn about the Chinese military's modernization, professional image, and commitment to peace.
With an open and confident approach, the platforms highlighted the Chinese military's transparency and sense of international responsibility, it added.
